About us

My name is Rachel, and I live in East Northamptonshire with my husband Matt. Between us we  have 5 children, 5 grandchildren and 11 Dogs! 

I have always loved animals. As a child I was very lucky to have a couple of cows called Oxo and Bisto and a goat called Snowy, along with Rabbits, guinea pigs and of course dogs. Amber was our first family dog, she was a yellow Labrador.  

As an adult I’ve had a number of dogs and in 1998 I got my first English Setter. I then went on to have four working type English Setters.  At present, we have 7  Labradors, 2 Working Cocker Spaniels , a working type English Setter and a Jack Russell Terrier. 

Dogs are our life, I have worked with dogs for 10 years. I have run my own professional dog walking company - Rachel’s Happy Hounds, for 8 years, and I opened my secure dog field in Old Weston 7 years ago. I also offer puppy training classes at the field.

Matt has been a professional dog trainer for over 25 years, he also competes in and occasionally judges Working Tests and Field Trials.  I will be competing with my gang as soon as we are ready. Luckily, I live with a brilliant, patient trainer to help me!
